The Exsultet is traditionally sung by the Deacon at the Easter Vigil. It is an extended prayer offered on behalf of the congregation to recount God’s saving acts throughout history, confess the sins of the congregation, celebrate the lighting of the Paschal Candle, and serve as an introduction to the rest of the Great Vigil.
Below is a recording of my performance of the Exsultet, as a modest offering to provide one part of the Easter Vigil in these days when we cannot gather physically together for worship. (Recorded 4/11/2020).
